I was never a fan of the craft. Saw my mum embroider numerous fabrics, table cloths, sheets and canvases but always frowned upon it as a "grandma's hobby". My friend, Jolanta, was starting off her learning a new task a month journey with embroidery and she was the second friend of mine to embark on this journey and she was saying how she was finding it difficult to discipline herself so I thought, I am not working, I have time, what if we do it together and meet up to share learning techniques, teach each other and just do together in the moment. I started with using the free scandi hoop kit from Mollie MAKES magazine, and moved on to a cross stitch puppy kit I got from Hobby Craft. Next I felt confident enough to move onto my own design inspired from Pinterest and using my book "Embroidery Stitches STEP BY STEP" by Lucinda Ganderton and a couple of YouTube basic stitches videos, I went on to complete my gift for a very special person.
